Laboratory
Our lab is located in the Engineering Center at the University of Colorado Boulder where we develop new laser ultrasonic
experiments for modeling, characterization, and diagnostics of (natural and architected) materials. The lab contains lasers,
optical components, high speed electronics, and sensing equipment, including:
- Thorlabs PC4QR piezoelectric transducer: frequency range 1Hz-60kHz
- B&K CCLD 4394 piezoelectric accelerometers: frequency range 1Hz-25kHz
- Nicolet Sigma 60-8 digital oscilloscope: 200MHz bandwidth
- DSP SigLab 50-21 dynamic signal analyzer: 50kHz bandwidth
- B&K 4809 electromechanical shaker: frequency range 10Hz-20kHz
- Olympus V101RB p-wave piezoceramic transducer: resonance frequency at 0.5MHz
- Olympus V1548 s-wave piezoceramic transducer: resonance frequency at 0.1MHz
- Polytec VibroFlex Xtra VFX-I-120 laser Doppler vibrometer: frequency range ~DC-24MHz
- stabilized Michelson interferometer
- photorefractive crystal based interferometer
- 2D robotic translation frame for optical scanning
