• CU-Boulder has been selected as a 2009-2010 Changemaker campus by Ashoka
• Thanks to a generous endowment from the Mortenson Family and the Mortenson Construction Company, the EDC program was renamed the Mortenson Center in Engineering for Developing Communities (MC-EDC) on April 1, 2009 (see press release).

EDUCATION

• Information and Communications Technology for Development, and Social Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies courses to be offered in F09
• Sustainable Community Development six-credit hour graduate course to be offered over a period of two semesters in F09 (SCD 1) and S10 (SCD 2)
• EDC track available to CVEN undergrad majors at CU Boulder
• Graduate tracks are available in the MS/PhD program in Environmental Engineering and the MS/PhD program in Civil Systems in CEAE.
• Sustainable Practices Certificate Program available at CU through Continuing Education
• CU-Boulder's energy certificate program provides a broad exposure to energy issues, with emphasis on renewable and sustainable energy.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

• EDC team works on Compressed Earth Block technology (CEB) for the DEMD
• High Efficiency Stove Microenterprise in Rwanda research project is now under way and is supported by the NCIIA
